In 2016, I came back to the University of Michigan, this time on the medical side to lead the design and share product ownership of multiple custom web applications for the Medical School & Hospital. Recent projects include a new graduate medical education evaluation software for over 100 graduate programs; significant enhancements to custom software supporting undergraduate medical students, faculty, and administrators, including a new assessment/grading model; and a multi-year effort to replace and expand an administrative software suite supporting the planning, hiring, and promotion of hundreds of faculty. I work collaboratively with Agile development teams to conceptualize software solutions, write user stories, draw mockups and wireframes, advocate for accessibility, and QA new features. Other responsibilities include interfacing with stakeholders and users, gathering requirements, negotiating feature prioritization, demoing software progress, and delivering training sessions. I also expand UX awareness by speaking at Michigan IT conferences, and I co-founded a new user-centered-design community of practice within Michigan Medicine.
