Marshmallow Peep Dioramas

Apparently by discussing this topic with a few friends, I've come to find that i am a big fan of marshmallow peeps. Ya' know, the little sugar-coated piles of fluff that come in flat-looking chickens, bunnies, trees, etc. I live in the next town over from where their maker, Just Born Inc. has their plant, and my sister went to school with one of the PeepMaster's sons, so I feel a slight connection there.

In any case, there are bigger fans of Peeps than me, as evidenced by this article given to me by my friend Anne. It talks about Pioneer Press hosting a Marshmallow Peeps Diorama Content, in which they had 40 participants assemble quite intricate scenes involving the marshmallow fluff. Because the website is registration-protected, here are some pics that i deliberately made freely accessible:

I rescued the peeps from those sticks and took them to the Peep hospital...

Is there a Peep hospital? It would be cool if your local hospital were run by the Peep factory. Or if you lived near the company that makes Cabbage Patch Kids - they actually do have a CPK hospital or *something*... it's a crazy weird society, those CPK collectors...

I'll tell you something weird I saw in AA today - some middle aged asian man was passing me on the street and gave me this huge smile - I think I then heard him chuckle, I mean I know that my hair was a little windblown, but I'm not sure it warented THAT much. It was so funny though, so I might be making up the chuckle though, because I know that I chuckled. It was a charming smile too, but funny in that it was so huge and fake looking - like he just attached it to his face

And I hadn't noticed that you got that from THE Pioneer Press. Is Anne in MN? In any case, those Minnesotans are crazy, watch out for them. Oh, and the Star Tribune (aka the Strib) is FAR better

They don't have tours of the Peep plant. :'(

Really? Hmm, i guess not public ones -- i think if you sneak in as an elementary student during a school tour you could see them working their marshmallow magic... Thats how i got in, although i was a student at the time (and maybe they've stopped doing them now...) I will have to check into that for you :)
