Hi,
This is the world-wide debut of my first weblog post, so please be nice to the newbie :) I seemed to have caved to the enormouse social pressure inside to blog at UM:SI, seeing how badly i want to sit at the 'cool table' in the lunch room with the other bloggers... I can see it now: i'll be 'in the know', going to parties, getting dates, understanding the inside jokes, making contacts, landing great jobs... all from typing in this little box. Isn't technology amazing?!

Thanks -- i didn't want to become *too* popular -- i get tired after signing all those autographs... Plus, what's the fun if everybody likes you? You need some people to dislike in return... :)

I like that you wrote "enormouse." I don't know, though, where you got the impression that SI bloggers are 'in the know', go to parties, get dates, understand inside jokes, make contacts or land great jobs.
We are probably WORSE than the SI population at large!

I hope you weren't including me in that 'we are probably WORSE" -- i'm going to break the mold! :) And how did that 'mouse' reference get in there? -- i don't remember typing that... could that be some Freudian slip? Hmm, not gonna go there... :)
