Email Mooditude

Communication these days happens alot over email or IM, which is primarily text-based. The invention of emoticons :) was a great way to express mood, attitude, facial expression, and otherwise nonverbal behavior through the use of simple keystrokes. LiveJournal goes a step further by allowing bloggers to attach a 'mood' to a post ("I'm hungry" / "I'm bored", etc.).

So, how about extending this concept to email? Imagine if you could send/receive email with a 'mood' label, similar to how you can label things 'important'? Then if you received an email from a friend or family member, the mood of the email could help determine if you need/want to read that message right away. Sure, ideally, you would read every email you received right away, but many of us are getting bombarded by 25, 50, 100+ messages a day, and adding a special helper label like this might actually get people to read certain types of messages more often.
